NCAA AMA Online Case Management is a centralized case processing system for institutions to submit and manage waiver and reinstatement cases, communications and decisions. All waiver and student-athlete reinstatement requests submitted February 28 and thereafter must be submitted via the AMA Online Case Management System. Any waiver or reinstatement case that is submitted prior to February 28 will continue to be processed via the previous method. Guidelines, policies and procedures for each case type and other helpful documents are located on the Resources tab within the AMA Online Case Management System.
AMA Online Case Management, the new waiver and student-athlete reinstatement processing system, is available behind the Single-Source Sign-On System. Single-Source Administrators may add access to the application prior to its launch. Administrators should expand the application once it has been assigned to be sure individual roles and privileges are selected to provide the user appropriate access levels. The function for “Request a case” will be defaulted to “Yes” if the application is assigned to a user. If there is a user that should be able to view information in AMA Online, but should not be able to initiate a case, the access level should be changed to “No.” There is a user guide and tutorial video available to assist users on the Help tab within the Single-Source Sign-On System. Questions relating to the AMA Online Case Management System should be directed to

CLEVELAND – The National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) is seeking nominations for the Association’s Frank Kara Leadership Award and the Organizational Leadership Award. The award winners will be honored at the 2011 NAAC Convention presented by ACS Athletics, which will take place Wednesday-Thursday, June 15-16, at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla.
The Frank Kara Leadership Award is NAAC’s premier award, and the highest honor that may be bestowed upon compliance professionals. This award is named in honor of former University of Minnesota Director of Compliance, Frank Kara, who was a leader in the compliance field and best known for hosting the inaugural NAAC Convention in 2006. Sadly, Frank lost his battle with cancer at the age of 40.
To be eligible for this award, the nominee must: 1. Be a NAAC member in good standing. 2. Be employed as a full-time compliance administrator at a collegiate institution, conference office or the NCAA at the time of nomination with a minimum of 5 years of full-time compliance experience. 3. Demonstrate leadership and vision for compliance initiatives both amongst his or her compliance peers and beyond to other collegiate leaders on their campus, conference office, and/or at the NCAA. 4. Demonstrate a commitment to furthering the compliance profession through active participation on NAAC committee(s). 5. Serve as a positive role model and mentor to other compliance administrators.
To nominate a member for the Frank Kara Leadership Award, click here.
The Organizational Leadership Award is given to an organizational leader (i.e., athletics director, general counsel, provost, president, commissioner, NCAA executive, etc.) who has demonstrated NCAA compliance leadership and a strong commitment to fostering a culture of compliance to NCAA rules within their organization.

To be eligible for this award, the nominee must: 1. Be employed as a full-time athletics director or some other representative from a campus, conference office or NCAA office (i.e., general counsel, provost, president, commissioner, NCAA executive, etc.) for a minimum of 2 years at the time of nomination. 2. Directly contribute to the organization’s culture and commitment to compliance with NCAA rules. This includes supporting preventative (i.e. rules education) and/or proactive efforts (i.e., implementation of compliance monitoring systems or conference/NCAA services to its members) of the organization’s compliance administrators. [Note: This does not preclude leaders who have seen their institution through a major infractions case as NAAC recognizes that often the best leadership is birthed through renewed commitment in response to the challenges associated with experiencing a major infractions case.] 3. Demonstrate strong support for the organization’s compliance administrators’ office and leadership. 4. Have a national presence on compliance-related issues or initiatives. 5. Serve as a positive role model.
To nominate a deserving individual for the Organization Leadership Award, click here.
Deadline to submit nominations for both awards is Friday, April 1. |

Be a Part of the 2011 NAAC Convention: "Beyond the Bylaws"
Your proposals for general and breakout sessions are encouraged and welcome!
- NAAC is looking for compliance professionals to present "best practice" breakouts to advance the membership.
- Proposals for session topics are being accepted through February 15.
CLEVELAND -- NAAC is accepting proposals for breakout session topics to be presented at the 2011 Convention presented by ACS Athletics at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla. on June 15-16. Breakout sessions are generally 50 minutes in length and will complement a strong lineup of general sessions at this year's Convention.
This year, NAAC is specifically looking to offer several "best practice" breakout sessions presented by day-to-day compliance professionals covering various compliance related topics. If you feel your policies/procedures or monitoring efforts set an excellent standard within a particular area, please consider advancing our profession by contributing to a breakout session. All proposal submissions are welcome!
Each proposal will be reviewed by the Education Committee and forwarded to the Convention Committee for review. Proposals must be submitted by February 15. The individual listed as the contact person will be notified of the status of their proposal no later than March 1. There is a limit of two proposals per applicant. This is done to encourage collaborations and partnerships among the compliance community.
Please note, in order to keep the registration rate low for our members as our organization grows, NAAC does not pay for the cost of travel, hotel or meals expenses for its Convention speakers. In many cases, the institutions or organizations of the speakers support the mission of NAAC by covering the aforementioned costs.
